OTR Solo Driver
Over-the-road truck drivers, also known as long-haul truckers, specialized in long-haul freight transport, in contrast to local and regional. Pay scales for OTR solo drivers differ based on the years of experience, expertise, endorsements of the driver, and areas they cover.
Generally, OTR truck drivers may consider driving between 2,000 to 3,000 miles per week. Over-the-road drivers commonly stick out for 4-6 weeks at a time before returning home.
There are, still, a lot of drivers who choose to stick out longer or spend “home time” anywhere other than their current residence.
Regional trucking corresponds to the aspect where a driver carries goods and materials throughout the region. It is generally split between the north-east and the mid-west, and generally within a distance of 1,000 miles.
Regional road trips typically overlap with weekends. Usually, regional driving involves daily engagement, with the possibility of doing the break at home. A driver can run areas from a few towns/counties within regions.
A routine for regional truck drivers is typically reliable, as most truckers travel a certain route each day, week, or month.
